I learned to make myself smaller. Please excuse the space I take up.

A precarious shoe frame that compresses bodily contact to a single point, reflecting marginal presence in rented space.

A shoe frame fitted with a wooden cone forces the body to balance on a single point, compressing contact with the floor into a minimal footprint. Through self-regulation and the restricted accessibility of space, the work reflects the precarious conditions of renting: inhabiting a place while never fully belonging. The

unstable tip suggests reducing one’s  presence, occupying less space, and leaving almost no trace, highlighting how ownership structures shape social status and bodily experience.
