a slice of home II presents a bed constructed to the exact dimensions of the artist’s body — just enough for shoulders and feet. The work draws on the logic of the panopticon, exploring how surveillance becomes internalised within domestic space. Under tenancy, behaviour is shaped by the awareness of ownership and observation. The bed permits no excess or expansion, materialising conditional belonging. Positioned between Hong Kong and the UK, the work reflects how property structures social hierarchy and compresses dwelling into disciplined occupation.
