In a Loop
Reflective fabric, Steel
Dimensions Variable
2026

In a Loop reconstructs senior playground facilities using inflatable reflective textiles tensioned within stainless-steel frames. Extending the spatial language of Conditional Home, the works transform public exercise structures into air-sustained forms suspended between support and collapse.

While Conditional Home examined unstable domestic interiors, this series shifts that inquiry into civic space, focusing on infrastructures designed to regulate and maintain aging bodies. Reconfigured as fragile, continuously sustained structures, the works expose care as conditional, regulated, and dependent on ongoing maintenance.

Structured through the recurring route from fountain, to playground, to home, the series extends Conditional Home into the urban landscape, where dwelling emerges as a cyclical and continuously negotiated condition.

Set within an arrangement of contrasting metal structures, the fragile playground forms emit ghostly reflections across the space. They appear welcoming, echoing the familiar language of public recreation, yet remain incapable of collapsing into the fixed shapes required to bear a visitor’s weight. Hovering between invitation and refusal, support and failure, the works inhabit a state of perpetual becoming.
